Shanklin has a growing, diverse and strongly independent local Business Community with a surprisingly vast array of excellent services, suppliers, producers, manufactures, designers, retailers, trades-people, crafts-people, advisers, trainers, wholesalers, artists, financiers, insurers, estate agents, entertainers, providers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, publicans and assorted entrepreneurs and SME’s! We aim to assist, support and spotlight all of the great things that go on here and to promote the links between the local resident Community (that are obviously here in non peak-season times all year around), the Resort based Community in an integrated and mutually beneficial way!
The idea is to build a micro-project ‘Hub’ for our newly re-branded Resort that can make things become a reality simply by folks getting involved and adding their skill-sets and experience. VisitShanklin can act as a funnel, project manager, adviser and point of central contact to get things off the ground – especially well thought out schemes, plans and improvements and make changes happen for the benefit of all local sections of our Community and to stimulate the local economy as a direct result. It means getting folks talking and meeting together and seeking the best ideas to implement further. The strength is in increasing the Internet Footprint by encouraging folks to ‘Tweet’ and use ‘Facebook’ and ‘Linked-in’ to network, promote and connect with potential outside supporters and allies.
