Tourist Information Centre (TIC’s) on the Island have been a victim of the current climate. For 2011 there was the Southern Vectis Visitor Information Bus at the bus station outside the Co op on Landguard Road.
In a move that could well be the future, there are plans being talked about which means we would see information points at more locations, possibly computerised, but also basic information necessary to assist people on their arrival to Shanklin.
The majority of places to stay also have plenty of local knowledge and information available once visitors put their bags down. With a possible computerised move this would also give people impartial information on where to stay and what to do.
