Changes have been afoot over the last year! First, Jo and Andy at the Shoreside Inn on the Esplanade opened their doors for food and drink. We were teased for ages being able to see their beautiful bathrooms from the Esplanade, then they finally, after a lot of hard work, opened their doors for accommodation as well and it was certainly worth the wait.
The Clifton Hotel then changed hands and became simply The Clifton. David and Carys opened a new bar and bistro to the public with lovely Chesterfield style sofas, beautiful sea views, colonial balconies and even a menu ‘For Little People’.
Then at the end of the summer season Gareth and Sarah opened Old Shanklin Guest House in the Old Village, a completely new guest house, although it was previously The Woodthorpe Hotel in the 1960s. We’d love to hear from anyone who remembers it then.
